Just type “%appdata%\skype” in run and press enter
    you got shared.xml file there
    delete it and enjoy……..

  27. njd says:

thank you very much! it really works! :)

  28. ESA says:

    Step 1:
Stop Skype from running on your PC, then click the Start button.
In the Search box type %appdata%\skype and press Enter.
This will open your Skype User folder.
You will find the shared.xml file in this folder. Delete this file.
Delete also all files starting with “-temp”, all files ending with
“-journal” and all files with “.lock” extension.
You must do this in every subfolder. Restart Skype.
If its working, then you are done. If not, continue to Step 2.

    Step 2:
Rename the whole Skype User folder (the one in AppData) to something like Skype_old. Restart Skype. Hopefully its working now. If not, try Step 3.

    Step 3:
Open Task Manager and kill the process of SkypePM.exe
In the Skype installation folder, delete the Plugin Manager folder.
    Restart Skype. Good luck!

%appdata%\skype it will come up but i dont see the file to delete and i have tired uninstallin it and everything and the same thing happens

  35. XaRtyN says:

I tried deleting “shared.xml” but didnt work for me. So i realized that i had changed skype’s compatibility before i open it.
in windows 7 x64 , maybe we all change the compatibility as windows xp sp3 to get the icon in systemtray not in taskbar…
so this is the problem in new version of skype. Try not changing the compatibility leave it as it is and it will work !!! Thanks…
